Contract Zero-Hour Contract

Fulfilment of Prescription orders. Prescriptions will be processed through a VPP, located at the NVS VMD approved on-site Pharmacy facility which is a registered premises in Stoke on Trent. This role is to fulfil the prescription dispensing process by either picking, packing order checking a range of approved medicines. Prescriptions will be shipped via a courier direct to the end user.

To work as part of a team under the supervision of the DTC Supervisor to ensure the safe, accurate and timely supply of prescribed medication to patients.

To work in conjunction with the SWI’s, to provide accurate dispensing of medicines.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To select, label and dispense pharmaceutical products in accordance with a prescription by following Standard Operating Procedures and complying with all legal requirements.
  • To carry out final checking of dispensed items according to the accuracy checking Standard Operating Procedures
  • To ensure the safe and correct transfer of dispensed items to patients following Standard Operating Procedures and complying with all legal requirements.
  • To receive stock in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
  • To ensure the safe and appropriate storage of medicines.
  • Understand and comply with job relevant Companies Practice Standards at all times.
  • Understand the Companies standard operating procedures and attend training sessions as appropriate.
  • Some work at height (accessed via ladders/kick-steps), and below the knee
  • Ensuring items are packed is such a way as to limit the risk of damages to products
  • Compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs & SWI’s)
  • Maintain good distribution practices, including a ‘clean as you go approach’

Personal attributes:

  • Some experience of working in a warehouse environment would be advantageous but is not essential
  • GCSE grades D-G or equivalent is desirable
  • Good attention to detail and high levels of concentration
  • The ability to work accurately under pressure
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Excellent team working skills.
